The Turkiye-World Trade Bridge 2009 was another important event organized by TUSKON, which has previously conducted eight other trade bridge summits, each of which has significantly helped Turkish businessmen access new markets and diversify Turkey's foreign trade.
Roughly 3,200 businessmen from Turkey and 2,300 others from 135 countries came together to discuss mutual business opportunities for the event, which took place for three days from June 3 to 5. The event has helped directly contribute to Turkey's economy with an increase of more than $7 billion in trade.
Turkiye-World Trade Bridge 2009 was followed by a panel discussion titled "The Future of Global Trade: Opportunities and New Possibilities for Cooperation." with participation of four deputy prime ministers, 20 state ministers, nine deputy ministers and six ambassadors that representing 39 countries total. Nearly 455 companies from the construction and real estate sectors, 376 from the agricultural sector and 209 from the food and beverage industry also a number of companies from the fields of chemicals, energy, electronics, computer software and hardware, furniture, textiles, jewelry and precious stones participated in the trade summit.
